Subject:Attend the APSAC Virtual Colloquium for Free - Volunteer as a Technical Assistance Modeartor

Colleagues, APSAC is seeking experienced Zoom-users to volunteer as Technical Assistance Moderators for the 2020 APSAC Virtual Colloquium, September 22-24, 2020. TA Moderators will receive free registration to the Colloquium as a thank-you for their services. The purpose of the Technical Assistance Moderators are to help presentations run smoothly by managing the technical side of Zoom (muting and unmuting, responding to technical questions in the chat, assisting presenters with technological requirements), as well as helping presenters manage Q&A. Technical Assistance Moderators will be assigned to half a track (the AM track ending at 1:30 pm central and the PM track beginning at 1:20 pm central, so that moderators have a few minutes of overlap). All Technical Assistance Moderators will need: 1. Commitment to attending their full assigned slot with very limited breaks/ability to sit at a desk for several hours. Staff will be available to relieve TA Moderators from their shifts for a 5-10 minutes at a time upon request. 2. A strong internet connection 3. Good working knowledge/comfort with zoom 4. Comfort with communicating with presenters and participants/providing technical assistance 5. Comfort moderating the Q&A, if presenters request (could be monitoring chat box, watching for hand raising and calling on people, or a combination) If you are interested in serving, please respond to bstormer@apsac.org with your top two preferred slots (track name and AM or PM shift – defined as before or after the lunch break at 1:20 pm central). See the schedule here: https://www.apsac.org/colloquiumschedule. I will be assigning slots on a first-come-first-serve basis, so while I cannot promise that I will accommodate your request, I will do my best not to give you a slot that conflicts with your requested track. Once you’ve been assigned a slot, I will provide information on how to register for the full Colloquium at no charge. Once all slots are assigned, I’ll put together a web training for all Technical Assistance Moderators. I will record for those who aren’t able to attend. Technical Assistance Moderators will also receive written guidance from me with step-by-step instructions. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
