Children's Research Center through their Structured Decision Making does

address some of your questions with respect to frequency of visits based on

risk factors present in the home, including age of child. Some states are

utilizing these tools as mandated policy, other states such as Virginia are

in permanent pilot of the tools in some localities.

Subject: Question from a colleague

Hello - We received the following question from a colleague and, at his

request, are forwarding it to the List Serve for additional information and

feedback.

We are curently dealing with a terrible death in Milwaukee. One of the

questions that has arisen is whether any states employ practice guidelines

that include developmentally-appropriate interventions for families with

children under age three, such as, more frequent in-home visiting and other

timelines that are either shorter and/or more frequent due to age of child,

differential assessment based on known developmental trajectories, etc.

Would you happen to know of systems that have such standards, or do you know

where the best place to look would be?

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Best regards,

Chris Bruhn
