NDACAN Measure Details
Child Sexual Behavior Inventory
Description:
Designed to obtain caregiver’s report of a wide range of sexual behaviors for use in the evaluation of children who have been sexually abused or who are suspected of having been sexually abused. The Inventory is based on the recognition of the fact that sexual abuse is related to the presence of precocious sexual behavior in children (Freidrich 1997). The 38 items cover a variety of domains, including boundary problems, exhibitionism, gender-role behavior (i.e. interest in acting like or being a member of the opposite sex), self-stimulation, sexual anxiety, sexual interest, sexual intrusiveness, sexual knowledge, and voyeuristic behavior (Friedrich, 1997).
